About Lifespan Rooibos Tea

About organic Rooibos continued. . .

Today our tea is still processed in much the same way, but, of course, the methods are more refined. The herb is now organically grown and not harvested from the wild.  Seeds are planted from February to March and the plants are carefully tended for the next 18 months, when they are ready for the first harvesting. The harvest is bound, milled and During spring, following the winter rains, botanists, photographers, andbruised between rollers to trigger the process during which the distinctive red color, aroma and flavor of the herb is released. This herb is sorted and graded in accordance with high standards. The herb is then purified by a special process of technologically advanced pasteurization and dried once more over an exclusive air bed drier. Throughout the process bacteriological control is strictly monitored to ensure a hygienically sound product.

Vast improvements in production technology and strict quality assurance procedures continue to ensure a superior organic product.  Recent studies established that  Rooibos possesses anti-oxidant properties (SOD) with beneficial effects on human health.
